We stayed here over Easter and had a fabulous time. The hotel is full of charm, the room we had was huge and the service wonderful. Both breakfast and dinner were very good. We had looked at previous reviews about the hotel on this site which suggested the food hadn't been so good in the past - so were very pleasantly surprised. Thoroughly recommended.

We have just returned from a delightful two night stay at Hodgkinson's Hotel. The hotel has Victorian charm and the service was impeccable. We had two evening meals at the hotel and would strongly recommend booking this for your stay as the food was of a very high quality. This was the perfect relaxing break and an ideal base for exploring Derbyshire. Haddon Hall (check when open), Chatsworth, Castleton/ Peverill Castle and Eyam (excellent plague museum!!!) are all relatively near by and easily reachable by car. If visiting the area again, we would definitely return to stay at this hotel.

Having stopped at the hodgkinson hotel in matlock-bath, we would recommend it to anybody. The rooms are outstanding, very comfortable. Service was second to none (fantastic). Loads to do for all ages. Beautiful...
